Wike Will Perform Well As Minister – APC Chieftain

Chief Tony Okocha, a senior All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Rivers State, has told Nigerians that former governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike will perform well in whatever cabinet position granted to him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He hailed Tinubu's nomination of Wike as well merited, given the massive amount of support he gave the president in the state's presidential election on February 25.

Okocha, a former national chairman of the disbanded Tinubu-Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (TSGICC) Protocols/Logistics Committee, addressed in Port Harcourt yesterday.

The APC chieftain said, “He (Wike) is noted for lofty achievements; where you think he would not succeed, he would succeed. Give him a stone, he would turn that stone to water. He has done excellently well in the state.

“And having done so well in the administration and leadership of the people, he is not a green horn. He has gotten the experiences and those experiences are the ones that we are expecting from him to export to the centre.

“Wherever the president wants to make as a priority in his renewed hope agenda, he (Tinubu) should assign former governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, and he would be happy he did.”

Okocha slammed people who had previously spread false information about Wike and Tinubu over the ministerial list, calling it a "nonsensical media stunt machinated by naysayers."
