Dangote Refinery Partners with MRS to Offer Petrol at N935 per Litre
In a strategic collaboration, Dangote Refinery has teamed up with MRS to provide Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at a competitive price of N935 per litre across its retail locations nationwide. This initiative follows a recent price reduction at the Dangote refinery, where the price of PMS was lowered from N970 to N899.50 at the loading gantry.
Aliko Dangote commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the positive impact of the naira-for-crude swap arrangement on Nigeria's economy, which has led to decreased prices for petroleum products. He stated, “To ensure that this price reduction gets to the end consumer, we have signed a partnership with MRS to sell petrol from its retail outlets nationwide at N935 per litre.” This pricing strategy, which has already launched in Lagos, will be fully implemented nationwide starting Monday.
Dangote emphasized the importance of collaboration among oil marketers, urging NNPC Retail and other suppliers to join efforts in providing high-quality petrol at reduced prices. “The Dangote Refinery is for the benefit of Nigeria and Nigerians. We will continue to work with various value chain players to deliver high-quality petrol at cheaper prices,” he affirmed.
He further highlighted the recent approval by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) under President Tinubu's leadership, allowing the sale of crude to local refineries in naira, which commenced on October 1. This move has alleviated pressure on the dollar and contributed to the stability of the local currency.
In closing, Dangote expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support and acknowledged the government for fostering an environment conducive to the domestic refining industry
