22-Year-Old Woman Diagnosed With Stage 4 Cancer After Symptoms Were Repeatedly Dismissed

A 22-year-old woman from Leicester has spoken out after her severe back pain was reportedly dismissed during four separate visits to doctors, where she was allegedly advised to take paracetamol and do some stretches.

Concerned that she would once again be turned away without further investigation, she eventually told doctors that she had fallen down the stairs in order to get a scan.

The scan reportedly revealed cancerous lesions affecting her spine, pelvis and left adrenal gland. She has since been diagnosed with stage 4 sarcoma, which doctors have described as incurable.

She is currently undergoing treatment and has used her experience to raise awareness about the importance of taking persistent or severe symptoms seriously, particularly when they continue despite initial treatment.

Her story has sparked conversations about delayed diagnoses and the impact that having symptoms repeatedly overlooked can have on patients
