Joint Task Force Bans Drone Operations in North East Nigeria
The Joint Task Force of Operation Hadin Kai has imposed a ban on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, across Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states due to rising security threats.
Air Commodore UU Idris, the Air Component Commander, issued the directive, highlighting concerns about the unauthorized use of drones by both non-state actors and individuals, which poses significant security risks.
He noted that the proliferation of drones for domestic and commercial purposes has led to serious concerns about their potential misuse for subversive and offensive activities.
