Drake Files Federal Defamation Lawsuit Against Universal Music Over Kendrick Lamar's Diss Track

Drake has initiated a federal defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG) concerning Kendrick Lamar's diss track "Not Like Us." The Canadian rapper claims that UMG perpetuated a "false and malicious narrative" portraying him as a paedophile through the song's lyrics and accompanying music video.

In court documents, Drake alleges that UMG was aware that Lamar's track would include damaging references to him and allowed the inflammatory content to be released because it would serve as a lucrative opportunity for the company. He accuses UMG of promoting "Not Like Us" with the intent to devalue his music and gain leverage in future contract negotiations.
