Costco to Tackle LA's Affordable Housing Crisis with Innovative Apartment Complex

Costco is taking a bold step to address Los Angeles' affordable housing crisis by building an 800-unit apartment complex above its store in South LA Baldwin Village.

 Developed in partnership with Thrive Living, this mixed-use project will also include 184 apartments specifically designated for low-income households.

The innovative financing model will leverage retail rents from Costco, significantly reducing the need for public funding. Construction is set to begin in early 2025, with completion anticipated by 2027.
