SpaceX Falcon 9 Launches Lunar Mission with Private Landers A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, carrying two privately constructed lunar landers and a micro rover on a mission to the Moon. The rocket took off at 01:09 local time (06:09 GMT) on Wednesday. The mission includes landers from America's Firefly Aerospace and Japan's ispace.

Nigeria's Inflation Rate Rises to 34.80% in December 2024

Nigeria's inflation rate increased to 34.80% in December 2024, up from 34.60% in November, according to the latest Consumer Price Index data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on January 15. 

The marginal rise of 0.20% in December was attributed to heightened demand for goods and services during the festive season.

On a year-on-year basis, the inflation rate saw a notable surge of 5.87 percentage points compared to 28.92% in December 2023. 

The NBS commented, “The headline inflation rate was 5.87% higher than the rate recorded in December 2023, indicating an increase in December 2024 compared to the same month in the preceding year.”

In contrast, food inflation experienced a slight decrease, dropping to 39.83% in December 2024 from 39.93% in November on a year-on-year basis.
