Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has renewed his criticism of former governor and NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi, questioning his contributions to the Igbo people during his years in politics.

Speaking at a political gathering in Anambra on Saturday, September 19, Soludo challenged supporters to consider Obi’s record, particularly on longstanding issues such as erosion in parts of the state.

Speaking in Igbo, Soludo reportedly said:

“Ask him, since he has been in politics, what has he brought for the Igbos? Look at the bad state and erosion in Anambra for a long time. Since he started politics, what has he done about it?”

He also accused Obi of appealing to the emotions of voters during election periods and argued that 2027 should be different in terms of how the Southeast approaches federal politics.

Soludo has continued to advocate for greater political engagement with the federal government, while his public disagreement with Obi has recently extended to debates over Obi’s record as Anambra governor and the state’s finances.

The comments have sparked fresh reactions online, with supporters of both politicians debating their respective records and political approaches.
