SOLUDO’S WIFE CLARIFIES PETER OBI’S ‘GODPARENT’ CLAIM

Former Anambra governor Peter Obi said on Friday that he and his wife, Margaret, are godparents to Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s children, describing the family relationship as close despite their political differences.

However, Anambra First Lady Dr Nonye Soludo has now disputed the claim, saying Peter Obi is not the godfather of any of their children.

According to a statement by her media aide, Daniel Ezeigwe, the actual godparent connections between the two families are that Nonye Soludo is the confirmation godmother to Peter Obi’s daughter, while Margaret Obi is the baptismal godmother to one of Soludo’s daughters.

The statement suggested that Obi may have misspoken, while stressing that the relationship between the two families remains cordial.
