U.S. TREASURY SECRETARY YELLEN IS PREPARED TO COLLABORATE WITH INDIA TO SUCCESSFULLY PRODUCE A COMMUNIQUÉ.

Despite recognizing that it would be difficult, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Friday that the US was open to work with India to draft a statement for the upcoming Group of 20 summit in New Delhi.

Yellen told reporters at a briefing, "I understand that it is difficult to construct such wording, but I know the negotiators are debating it, and working hard to do so. We stand ready, without a doubt, to engage with India to attempt to craft a communique that successfully addresses this concern.

In response to a question about the G20 joint outcome statement, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said: "We have been working all day and all night for a joint statement" at a press conference on board Air Force One on Thursday, following President Joe Biden's departure from Washington to India. In order to resolve many of the controversial topics, we approach them with an attitude of compromise.

Sullivan stated that there is "some distance to travel before a final joint statement is released."

"I won't speculate on that, but I will say that the United States is prepared to contribute to the delivery of a joint statement. We believe that a joint statement can be achieved; the question is whether every nation will stand up, be accountable, and be productive. It's too soon to say, but if the response to that question is yes, then we will receive a joint statement," Sullivan added.

In order to increase lending resources for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank to help member countries manage a variety of global challenges, including the distribution of new IMF quota resources, Yellen promised to take advantage of the G20 conference in India.
