FBI Arrests Nigerian Businessman Uchenna Nwadavid Over Alleged $2.5M Online Fraud Scheme
Uchenna Charles Nwadavid, a well-known businessman based in Abuja, has been arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in connection with an alleged internet fraud scheme that reportedly scammed U.S. citizens out of over $2.5 million.
According to court documents cited by Peoples Gazette, the 34-year-old was apprehended on April 7 at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport upon arriving from London.
Unaware that a grand jury had already indicted him in 2023, Nwadavid was taken into custody immediately after landing.
Nwadavid is the CEO of Nec Bullion Concept, a construction company, and co-founder of the Nec Bullion Foundation, which he established with his brother, Emmanuel Chijioke Nwadavid a political figure allegedly connected to Nigeria’s Minister of Communications and Digital Economy.
He made his initial court appearance in northern Texas on April 8 and is expected to be transferred to Massachusetts for trial, although a trial date has yet to be set.
