Davido Writes Donald Trump Over Osun Governorship Election

Afrobeats superstar Davido has appealed to US President Donald Trump and the international community to closely monitor the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, citing concerns over possible violence, intimidation and disruption of the electoral process. 

In a statement addressed to Trump, Davido called on relevant authorities to ensure that voters are protected and that every vote is respected.

He stressed that the people of Osun deserve to exercise their constitutional right to vote freely, peacefully and without fear, while urging the international community to pay close attention to developments surrounding the election.

The singer, who has openly supported the re-election bid of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, has previously warned that he would seek Trump’s intervention if the electoral process was compromised.
