Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has openly criticized Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for approving a ₦39 billion renovation of the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.

 Obi questioned the government's priorities, pointing out that many schools across the country still have leaking roofs and lack basic infrastructure.

He argued that such a massive allocation for a conference center renovation highlights misplaced priorities in a country where millions of children learn in unsafe and inadequate conditions.
