TWO NIGERIANS EXTRADITED TO THE US OVER ALLEGED SEXTORTION ????????????????????

The EFCC has facilitated the extradition of two Nigerian men, Mudashiru Afeez Olawale and Adebola Festus Adekunle, to the United States to face prosecution over alleged online child exploitation and sextortion.

According to the EFCC, the two were identified during separate FBI investigations into alleged sextortion schemes targeting male minors, particularly teenagers between 13 and 17 years old.

Authorities allege that victims were coerced using sexually explicit material and threatened with the distribution of their private images unless they paid money through channels including gift cards, money-transfer services and cryptocurrency.

The investigations reportedly involved two separate cases in which American teenagers died by suicide after allegedly being subjected to online sexual exploitation and extortion.

In one case, the FBI said a 13-year-old boy was contacted on Instagram and encouraged to exchange nude photographs before allegedly being threatened with the release of the images.

The EFCC says the investigation was launched following a request for assistance from US authorities. Adekunle was subsequently arrested, while the extradition process brought both suspects to the US to face prosecution.
