Court of Appeal Affirms Federal High Courts' Jurisdiction Over Statutory Contracts
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ruled that the Federal High Courts have the jurisdiction to handle cases involving statutory contracts in Nigeria.
In a unanimous decision, the appellate court delivered its ruling in an appeal filed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) against Adani Mega System Ltd.
The case stemmed from a 2017 contract between the CBN's Comprehensive Import Supervision Scheme (CISS) and Adani Mega System, which was engaged to provide scanning services infrastructure for the inspection of inbound and outbound cargo as required by Nigerian law
