RELATIONSHIP LENGTH ≠ RELATIONSHIP HEALTH.

RELATIONSHIP LENGTH ≠ RELATIONSHIP HEALTH.

Sometimes, people stay in relationships that no longer serve them because of the sunk cost fallacy.

“We’ve spent so many years together. I can’t just walk away now.”

But the number of years you’ve invested in someone doesn’t mean you should continue enduring emotional pain.

If you’re constantly anxious, walking on eggshells, silencing your needs, or losing yourself just to keep the relationship going, it may be time to ask yourself whether you’re holding on to love or simply afraid of letting go.

Ask yourself honestly:

“Am I staying because this relationship is healthy and fulfilling, or because I’m afraid of starting over?”

Never forget that a relationship can last for years and still be unhealthy. Time together is not proof that two people are happy, compatible, or good for each other.

And walking away from a relationship you’ve invested years in doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Those years are part of your story, but they don’t have to determine the rest of your life.

Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is accept that something you once wanted is no longer what you need.

Choosing yourself isn’t always giving up on love. Sometimes, it’s finally refusing to give up on yourself. ❤️‍????

???? Have you ever stayed in a relationship longer than you should have because of the years you had already invested? What made you finally see things differently?
