CBN to Appoint 16 New Directors Across Key Departments

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is set to appoint sixteen new directors across various strategic departments in a bid to strengthen its leadership structure and enhance operational efficiency. 

The appointments will see experienced professionals taking on critical roles within the apex bank, each tasked with driving the institution's mandate within their respective departments.

Among those to be appointed is Abdullahi Hamisu, who will head the Banking Services Department. Ojumu Adenike Olubunmi will take charge of the Medical Services Department, while Makinde Kayode Olanrewaju has been named Director of Procurement & Support Services Department. In the area of technology, Jide Samuel Omoyemen Avbasowamen will lead the Information Technology Department.

The Financial Policy and Regulation Department will be overseen by Sike Rita Ijeoma, while Isa-Olatinwo Aishaa will direct the Consumer Protection Department. Oboh Victor Ugbem is expected to take charge of the Monetary Policy Department, and Nakorji Musa will assume leadership at the Trade and Exchange Department.

In the payments sector, Yusuf Rakiya Opemi has been appointed as Director of the Payments System Supervision Department, while Vincent Monsurat Modesola will steer the Strategy Management and Innovation Department. Meanwhile, Farouk Mujtaba Muhammad will head the Reserve Management Department.

Other key appointments include Akinwunmi Olubukola Akinniyi, who will lead the Banking Supervision Department, and Adedeji Adetona Sikiru, who will take over the Currency Operations and Branch Management Department. The Development and Finance Institutions Supervision Department will be led by Hassan Ibrahim Umar.

Furthermore, Solaja Mohammed Jamiu Olayemi has been appointed Director of the Other Financial Institutions Supervision Department, while Okpanachi Usman Moses will take charge of the Statistics Department.

These appointments come at a crucial time for the Central Bank, as it continues efforts to stabilize Nigeria's economy and implement far-reaching reforms across the financial sector
