JUST IN: Madonna University Expels Nursing Students Over Viral Hospital Video

Madonna University Nigeria has reportedly expelled some nursing students after a video they recorded during a hospital posting went viral and sparked widespread reactions.

According to reports by Daily Times and Sahara Reporters, the students came under disciplinary action over the video, which carried the caption: “No sick oo, nah Gen Z full hospital.”

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) acknowledged that the students’ conduct was inappropriate but appealed to the university management to reconsider the expulsion.

NANS is asking the institution to replace the punishment with a stern warning and strict disciplinary conditions, including written undertakings from the students not to repeat the offense.

The association argued that while the students should face consequences for their actions, expulsion could seriously affect their education and future careers, particularly as nursing students whose training depends heavily on clinical and hospital-based learning.

NANS has therefore urged Madonna University to show clemency and make the punishment corrective rather than one that permanently disrupts the students’ academic journey.

The university has reportedly not yet announced whether it will review the expulsion or accept NANS’ appeal.
