Thailand Unveils AI Police Cyborg to Enhance Security During Songkran Festival

Thailand has introduced its first AI-powered police robot, named "AI Police Cyborg 1.0," to help secure the busy Songkran festival.

 The humanoid robot, officially called Pol Col Nakhonpathom Plod Phai, is equipped with 360-degree cameras and advanced facial recognition technology to monitor crowds in real time.

Developed in collaboration with Provincial Police Region 7, Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police, and local authorities, the robot is linked to the province's command center, enabling rapid alerts to security personnel. Additionally, it integrates live CCTV and drone footage to track high-risk individuals and detect potential threats, while excluding the festival’s water guns from its monitoring.
