The Federal Government has pledged to address the backlog of the newly approved ₦77,000 monthly allowance for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)

The Federal Government has pledged to address the backlog of the newly approved ₦77,000 monthly allowance for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
This commitment comes after months of delays following the announcement of the allowance increase from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000 in September 2024, aimed at mitigating economic hardships faced by corps members.
Despite the approval, the implementation has been stalled, leading to widespread frustration among corps members who continued to receive the previous stipend of ₦33,000. The Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, recently announced that all corps members would begin receiving the new allowance starting in March 2025.
