Tems Becomes First African Woman in MLS Ownership as She Joins San Diego FC

San Diego FC (SDFC) has announced that Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Tems has joined the club’s ownership group through her company, The Leading Vibe. This milestone makes her the first African woman to hold an ownership stake in a Major League Soccer (MLS) team.

Known for her unique sound and cultural influence, Tems brings her passion for creativity, empowerment, and community engagement to the world of soccer as an SDFC Club Partner.

"We are delighted that Tems has joined San Diego FC," said SDFC Chairman Sir Mohamed Mansour.

 "She is a globally significant artist who will help us reach new audiences and strengthen our connection to sub-Saharan Africa through the Right to Dream organization.
