NAFDAC Shuts Down Major Drug Markets in Lagos, Onitsha, and Aba Over Fake Medications

The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed off three major drug markets across Nigeria in a large-scale crackdown on counterfeit and substandard medicines.

 The affected markets include Idumota in Lagos, Bridgehead in Onitsha, and Ariaria in Aba.

The operation, which began on Sunday night, was triggered by increasing concerns over the widespread sale of unsafe, ineffective, and potentially life-threatening medications in open markets.
