Emir of Rano Allegedly Bans Church Activities in Residential Homes, Stirring Controversy

In Rano Emirate, Kano State, reports have emerged that Emir Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru has issued a directive prohibiting church activities within residential buildings.

This decision was prompted by petitions from concerned residents, leading the Emir to form a special investigative committee to examine the matter.

The committee's findings revealed that a church in Yadi Quarters, Rano town, had been conducting services in a residential property without proper legal authorization. While the emirate is home to 27 recognized churches where Christians worship freely without interference, unauthorized religious gatherings in private homes have raised concerns among locals.
