House of Reps Calls for Reversal of Telecom Tariff Hike Amid Economic Hardship

The House of Representatives has demanded an immediate suspension of the recently implemented 50% increase in telecom tariffs, citing the economic strain on Nigerians. 

This resolution follows a motion by Hon. Oboku Oforji, who not only condemned the hike but also criticized the poor service delivery by telecom operators.

Lawmakers have directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and Minister of Communications, Bosun Tijani, to halt the tariff adjustment until there is a noticeable improvement in service quality
