Nigeria Faces Nationwide Blackout as National Grid Collapses Again

Nigeria was plunged into darkness on Wednesday following the collapse of the national grid, marking the second grid failure of the year.

According to data from the Nigerian System Operator (niggrid.org), the collapse occurred around 11:30 a.m., leaving millions without electricity. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has yet to disclose the cause of the failure.

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) confirmed the development in a statement:

"We regret to inform you that a system disturbance occurred on the national grid at 11:34 a.m., causing power outages across our coverage areas. While gradual restoration has begun, we are working with stakeholders to fully stabilize supply
