Minister of State for Health says Medical Workers Among Highest-Paid in Nigeria

Dr. Adekunle Salako, the Minister of State for Health, has stated that medical workers are among the highest-paid professionals in Nigeria.

 He made this remark during a visit to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) on February 10.

Addressing the challenge of the "Japa" phenomenon referring to the migration of health professionals for better opportunities abroad Salako highlighted that this issue is primarily economic and extends beyond the health sector. He expressed optimism that the trend would eventually reverse.

Salako emphasized, "Within Nigeria’s economic capacity, health workers are still the best-paid professionals in the country, which shows the government’s prioritization and value for them."
