International Olympic Committee Sued Over Gender Eligibility of Boxers

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is facing legal action regarding the participation of boxers Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu-ting from Taiwan in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics. Both athletes won gold medals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics but were disqualified from the 2023 World Championships for failing gender eligibility tests.

The International Boxing Association (IBA), a Russian-led organization that oversaw those disputed tests, has initiated the lawsuit against the IOC.

They are filing complaints with the attorney generals of Switzerland, France, and the USA, citing concerns over the IOC's actions that allowed these ineligible athletes to compete
