Nursing Council Appeals to Nigerian Nurses to Stay in Country Amid Economic Challenges
The Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Alhassan Ndagi, has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerian nurses, urging them not to relocate abroad as Nigeria needs their expertise more than European or American healthcare systems. His remarks came during the induction of 37 nursing students in Osogbo over the weekend, where he was represented by Stella Godswill. Ndagi encouraged the newly inducted nurses to remain committed to their profession, despite the current economic challenges facing the country. “While some of you may seek opportunities to travel abroad, remember that a first degree is just the beginning of this fulfilling career. Though economic challenges may exist, Nigeria needs you more than Western countries,” he emphasized.
