Niger State Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Raping 10-Year-Old Girl

The Niger State Police Command has arrested 26-year-old Bala Aliyu for the alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl in Bosso Local Government Area.

 The incident, which has drawn significant concern, was disclosed by police spokesperson SP Wasiu Abiodun in a statement on January 1, 2025.

According to the police, the victim was sent to deliver a message to Aliyu's wife on December 14, 2024, but when she arrived, the woman was not home. During this time, Aliyu allegedly dragged the girl into a room and sexually assaulted her, threatening to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone.

On December 25, 2024, the girl's parents reported unusual observations concerning their daughter, Hauwa, leading to an investigation. Upon interrogation, Hauwa recounted the events of December 14, detailing how she was approached by Aliyu after failing to find his wife at home.

The police have emphasized the seriousness of the case and the importance of ensuring justice for the victim.
