In what could mark a major shift in Nigeria’s political landscape, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and Nasir El-Rufai, now aligned with the Social Democratic Party (SDP), have reportedly concluded long-running discussions to form a united political front ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to a source cited by Bloomberg, the agreement was finalized on Tuesday, with the coalition expected to operate under the banner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
