Young Woman Arrested for Arson After Dispute in Gambia

A 19-year-old woman, Ramatoulie Baldeh, has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to her boyfriend's family home in Kerr Sering, Gambia, following a dispute. 

The incident took place on February 4, 2025, and has drawn significant attention from local media.

Reports indicate that Ramatoulie ignited a plastic bag and threw it onto a bed before opening a gas cylinder, causing the fire to rapidly spread and engulf the entire house. 

The blaze resulted in extensive damage, destroying all belongings within the home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
