Tinubu Calls for Expanded Arming of Security Forces to Tackle Insecurity

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stressed the need to deploy all available security forces to address Nigeria’s growing insecurity, urging that no option should be ignored in the fight against criminal activities.

Speaking during a security related briefing, the president said the country must fully utilise its security architecture, noting that while some personnel are more exposed and may require special protection, other agencies should also be empowered.

“We need all the forces that we can utilize. I know some people are exposed and we need to make exceptional provisions for them, but the civil defence are equally armed, and our NSA should arm our forest guards too. Take it very seriously,” Tinubu said.
