VP Shettima Praises Dangote’s Patriotism, Says $19bn Investment in Dangote Refinery Beats Foreign Tech Stocks

Vice President Kashim Shettima has applauded Aliko Dangote for prioritizing Nigeria’s development over potentially higher financial gains abroad. 

Speaking at an event in Jalingo, Taraba State, Shettima highlighted Dangote’s bold decision to build the Dangote Refinery domestically instead of investing the $19 billion in global tech giants like Microsoft, Google, or Amazon.

Shettima noted, “If Dangote had invested the $19 billion used for the refinery project in companies like Microsoft, Amazon, or Google, he could have been worth $120 billion today. But he chose to invest in his own country.”
