Seven Inmates Escape from Ilesa Medium Security Custodial Centre After Wall Collapse

A manhunt is underway following the escape of seven inmates from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ilesa, Osun State, in the early hours of Tuesday. 

The breakout happened around 2 a.m. after a section of the prison’s perimeter wall collapsed due to heavy rainfall.

Abubakar Umar, spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), confirmed the incident and said the agency is actively working with local authorities and community leaders to recapture the fugitives
