EFCC Chairman Warns Against Rising Youth Involvement in Internet Fraud
The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has voiced serious concerns about the growing number of young people, especially young men, engaging in internet fraud.
Speaking at the 2025 International Day of the Boy Child event in Abuja on Friday, March 16, Olukoyede described cybercrime as a widespread menace with significant consequences.
He noted that many youths are drawn into these activities by financial pressures, peer influence, or the thrill of the act.
“The criminal nature of cybercrime and the global backlash it has generated call for urgent, collective action,” Olukoyede said, stressing the need for immediate solutions to address the issue.
