Tinubu Congratulates Customs Boss Bashir Adeniyi on Election as WCO Council Chair

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Bashir Adeniyi, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on his election as the chairperson of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Council.

In a statement released on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy, Tinubu urged Adeniyi to exceed the expectations of the council in his new global role.

The president also extended his congratulations to the board, management, and staff of the NCS, noting the historic moment as the Nigerian flag was raised for the first time at the WCO headquarters in Brussels. Tinubu described the achievement as a reflection of Adeniyi’s effective leadership since taking over the NCS two years ago.
