Suspended Rivers Lawmakers Travel to UK for Legislative Training Amid Ongoing Crisis
Suspended members of the 10th Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Martins Amaewhule, have traveled to the United Kingdom for a legislative training tour.
This move comes amid an ongoing crisis, as the lawmakers had previously been at odds with Governor Siminalayi Fubara, leading to President Bola Tinubu's intervention and the declaration of a state of emergency.
Despite being suspended, it has been reported that the lawmakers, along with their families, have continued to occupy official residences at the legislative quarters in Port Harcourt.
