NLC Calls for Boycott of MTN, Airtel, and Glo Over Tariff Hike

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has instructed workers and concerned citizens to boycott services provided by major telecommunications companies—MTN, Airtel, and Glo—starting at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2025. This decision comes as a response to recent increases in call and data tariffs.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by NLC President Joe Ajaero and Secretary Emmanuel Ugboaja, emphasizing their demand for an immediate reversal of the tariff hike.

"The Central Working Committee (CWC) demands an immediate reversal of the tariff hike, which took effect today. We insist that these telecom companies revert to the previous rates until the ongoing committee discussions reach a final agreement," Ajaero stated.
