NDLEA Arrests Two Brothers with 5kg of Cocaine and Ghanaian-British Student with 19.4kg of Cannabis at Lagos Airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully intercepted two separate drug smuggling operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on April 3, 2025.

In one case, two brothers, John Abugu (43) and Kenneth Abugu (31), were arrested for attempting to smuggle 5kg of cocaine concealed within the walls of their suitcases. The suspects, who claimed they were traveling for medical treatment, were apprehended following actionable intelligence.

In a related operation, NDLEA operatives arrested 20-year-old Ghanaian-British student, Parker Darren Hazekia Osei, who was found carrying 19.4kg of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis. Osei, a Computer Science student at East London University, was arrested during the clearance of an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Bangkok, Thailand.
