Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi Calls for Respect Between Women and Men in Politics

Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, who represents Ebonyi North and serves as the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, has called on women in politics to show respect to their male counterparts.

 Speaking at an empowerment event in Abakaliki on April 23, Nwebonyi criticized women who allegedly display disrespect towards men, warning that such actions send a negative message about the future of women in Nigerian politics.

While not naming any individuals, the senator emphasized that advocating for the empowerment of women should not come at the cost of undermining the rights and dignity of men. He said, "I am one of those championing the emancipation of women in politics. But that does not mean that the rights and dignity of men should be undermined."
