PENGASSAN to Presidency: “Nigeria Is Bigger Than Dangote or the Presidency”

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has responded to Vice President Kashim Shettima’s criticism of its recent strike over a dispute with the Dangote Refinery, asserting that the nation’s interests stand above all individuals and institutions.

PENGASSAN National President Festus Osifo emphasized that while the association respects the government and private investors, its foremost duty is to protect the rights and jobs of its members who were allegedly dismissed by the Dangote Refinery for joining the union.

Osifo stated, “Of course, the nation is bigger than PENGASSAN, just as it’s bigger than Dangote and the Presidency. We have a mandate to protect the jobs of our members, and that’s what we will continue to do.”
