Kano Governor Seeks Law to Criminalize Same Sex Marriage, ‘Immoral’ Practices

The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has given approval for the transmission of a bill to the State House of Assembly aimed at outlawing same sex marriage and other activities deemed immoral within the state.

If passed, the proposed legislation would further strengthen Kano’s stance on cultural and religious values, while introducing stricter penalties for individuals found in violation.
