Pastor Ibiyeomie: Jesus Avoided Poverty and Never Visited the Poor

David Ibiyeomie, the founder of Salvation Ministries, stirred controversy with a recent sermon where he claimed that Jesus Christ disliked poverty and deliberately distanced Himself from the poor during His earthly ministry.

Addressing his church, the pastor emphasized that Christ's mission went beyond salvation it also aimed to break the chains of financial hardship for believers. He argued that Christians who remain poor lack the full understanding of their spiritual inheritance.

"Read your Bible," he said. "Jesus never entered a poor man's home. He visited people like Lazarus and Zacchaeus both of whom had wealth. Jesus hated poverty. That’s the truth.”
