POLICE TRANSFER HUNDREDS OF MIGRANTS FROM BEACHES TO PORT FACILITIES

Spanish police and Guardia Civil officers have begun transferring hundreds of migrants from the Trampolín and Benítez beaches to designated facilities at the port of the autonomous city.

The operation reportedly began around 6:30 a.m., creating confusion and disorder among migrants in the area as authorities carried out the transfer.

During the operation and ensuing commotion, some migrants reportedly suffered minor injuries, with accounts attributing them to pushing and the rush to leave the makeshift shelters they had been living in along the beaches.

The transfer comes as authorities move migrants from the informal settlements toward the facilities prepared at the port. ????
