FG Nominates Ikpeazu, Ugwuanyi, Sani, and Omokri for Ambassadorial Positions
The Federal Government has nominated former governors Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, alongside former senator Shehu Sani and ex-presidential aide Reno Omokri, for ambassadorial appointments.
According to Vanguard, the nominees are currently undergoing security screening by relevant agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), as part of the vetting process.
Their résumés have been submitted for background checks.
This nomination follows the recall of Nigeria’s ambassadors from foreign postings nearly a year ago, which raised concerns about the country's diplomatic presence. While one nominee has confirmed the appointment under the condition of anonymity, the others have yet to comment publicly on the nomination.
