Elon Musk Faces Setback in Washington Amid Controversial Role in Government Efficiency

Once a close ally to President Trump, Elon Musk is now experiencing a rapid decline in his standing in Washington.

 Appointed as the president's special adviser, Musk was tasked with overseeing the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), aimed at making the government "leaner, faster, and cheaper." 

His ambitious plans included slashing hundreds of thousands of government jobs and cutting federal spending by up to $2 trillion.
