EFCC Detains Ex-Kaduna Contractor Over N30 Billion Fraud Allegations
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken into custody Bashir Ibrahim, a former contractor with the Kaduna State Government, on suspicion of fraud amounting to N30 billion. Ibrahim, who serves as the CEO of Formal Act Legacy Limited, allegedly misled numerous contractors by falsely presenting himself as a government consultant after his official engagement with the state ended in 2023.
According to a statement on the EFCC’s X account, Ibrahim reportedly claimed to have a 2020 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kaduna State, which he said enabled him to secure intervention grants from international donors to fund Local Government Area projects and support Sustainable Development Goals initiatives within the state.
