FEC Approves Life Insurance Scheme for Top Government Officials, Including Tinubu and Shettima
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a Group Life Assurance Scheme that will cover President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, ministers, and other key government officials.
This announcement was made by Didi Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, following the sixth FEC meeting of the year on Monday. According to Walson-Jack, the scheme is designed to ensure that in the event of death, the next-of-kin of any covered official will receive benefits to mitigate the impact of the loss.
The policy extends coverage to all federal civil servants, paramilitary personnel, and staff of ministries and treasury-funded agencies.
