House of Reps Votes Against Bill Proposing Rotational Presidency Across Geopolitical Zones

On Tuesday, the House of Representatives voted down a proposed constitutional amendment aimed at rotating the presidency and vice presidency among Nigeria's six geopolitical zones.

 The amendment was part of a broader package that included six other constitutional amendments, all of which were also rejected by the lawmakers.

Despite the rejections, the House decided to revisit the bills on Wednesday, planning to consider each on its own merits in separate discussions.

To allow for a more inclusive debate, the House had previously suspended its usual rules, enabling simultaneous discussions on all seven bills.
