EFCC Drags Mercy Chinwo’s Ex-Manager EeZeeTee to Court Over Alleged $255,000 FX Violations
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, popularly known as EeZeeTee and former manager to gospel star Mercy Chinwo, at the Federal High Court in Lagos over alleged foreign exchange offenses involving over $255,000.
Onyedikachukwu, alongside his company EeZee Global Concepts Ltd, is facing a seven-count amended charge centered on unauthorized foreign exchange transactions and failure to declare financial earnings. Contrary to earlier reports, the case does not involve misappropriation of Mercy Chinwo’s funds.
EFCC counsel Bilikisu Buhari-Bala told Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke that the accused negotiated a foreign exchange deal worth $52,895 in June 2023 with one Oladotun Mureke without proper authorization from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which constitutes a breach of the Foreign Exchange (Monitoring and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act.
